Stop being so anti-social!

Social networks have fast become a hot spot for businesses to further extend their reach, and give advocates for their business real interaction with real people.

However there are still quite a few businesses that are not on the social media bandwagon, mainly because they are still weighing up the pros and cons, and in some cases the list of cons will win. Mainly attributed to the fact that business owners have no idea what the pros are.

So to make life easy I have listed some of the key pros that come with the magic of social media.

Your competitor’s customers are on social media!

It’s not just your competitor’s customer’s its also other company’s customers that are using social networks.

So while we are on the subject of opportunity. If your products and services are similar to your competitor’s, then it is quite possible there’s an opportunity that you have not tapped into, and maybe your competitors have.

You have already tried social media but the people who interacted with your pages were irrelevant to your industry.

And your point is……?

I don’t think I know one person that is in the same job or same personal situation they were in when I met them.

The reality is that people change! Chances are your irrelevant followers might one day be your target audience, or they might be friends with your target audience.

Build customer loyalty & provide better service

Now days users look in all places to get answers for their questions, and more and more people are asking questions on social media platforms to avoid lengthy phone and email ques.

Reaching out to people in a personal way is a great way to build trust, it also ensures that there is a higher chance that they will either do business with you or continue to do business with you rather than with a competitor.

By the time you have finished thinking this over 50 times you may be faced with an identity issue.

I have seen it time and time again when business make the decision to finally dive into social media only to find out that their business name has been claimed by another account.

It is advised that even if you are not going to be using social media straight away its best to claim your account names so that no one else can use them.
