Where did you live in China? What do you miss from there?

I am from Liaoning, a province located in the North Eastern of China. It snows quite a bit in the winter and has a couple of months that the temperature reaches minus degrees, like -20 Celsius. Food is absolutely one of the main things I miss from there. There are so many different types of street food for any time of the year!

What weird food combinations do you really enjoy?

I don’t see any food combinations these days as weird. Who doesn’t enjoy having crispy bacon on top of their pancakes?

Congratulations on becoming a mother! What’s your favourite thing about being a parent?

Thank you! Being a parent is indeed one of the most rewarding experiences, as I had always heard from others. My daughter makes me feel very special. She smiles so much whenever she sees my face. I want to be her role model so I try to find ways to make myself a better person. She is 8 months now and I really can’t wait for her to call me mommy.

How have you found coming back to work with a little one? Do you have any advice for others returning to work after having a baby?

Maybe most new parents would like to utilise the full year maternity leave, but I am really glad that I came back to work earlier than that. Taking care of a newborn is very challenging and it is a 24/7 job. Every day coming to work feels like a good escape if you know what I am talking about. Don’t get me wrong though – I do miss her a lot when I am at work. What I would suggest to other parents returning to work is to make plans for post maternity leave early, and just enjoy every moment of your life as a parent. Babies grow so fast and there is really no need to stress out.

If you won a million dollars, what would you do with it?

I would put aside enough money for my baby girl’s education funds for her future. Then I would like to use the rest of the money to travel the world with my family and create lots of precious memories together.

What’s the best holiday you’ve taken?

It would be my “babymoon” trip to Vanuatu with my husband. I felt so relaxed over there and had my first kayaking experience. So much fun!

Netflix binge show of choice?

Atypical

What are your favourite things to do on the weekend?

Cooking for my family and taking my baby girl out to the park for a pram walk, or letting her crawl a bit on the grass if the weather is good.
