Hi Richard! Since you’re the newest member of the team what are your impressions about Webfirm?
Hello!! It’s been really great so far. I started with Webfirm just as we were going back into lockdown and everyone has been really great at facilitating a cohesive and collaborative work environment. They’ve made the transition really seamless and have made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. Working-from-home has been great, but I really can’t wait to head back to the office on a more permanent basis and learn more from my really talented team!
What areas of digital marketing are you hoping to explore in the future?
I came into Webfirm with a social media and business relationship building background, but I have had my eye on developing and utilising my writing skills. I would love to enhance my copywriting skills by writing blogs and long-form content but since starting at Webfirm, SEO has really taken my interest as well!
Since lockdown restrictions have been easing, what have you been doing in your spare time?
Honestly a lot of my favourite hobbies includes doing things at home, so it hasn’t been a huge change in terms of how I spend my time. I’ve been making the most of my time being able to hang out with my mates and visiting my girlfriend who lives interstate. I also really enjoy playing indoor soccer and futsal with my mates and playing Yu-Gi-Oh! cards down at my local shop on a weekend. It’s good to get back into that routine again.
Being a bit of a film buff, what are your favourites movies and shows?
I am a geek for sci-fi, fantasy and pop culture movies and shows. Star Wars & Marvel would probably be my go-to, there’s just so much content and I love how interconnected everything is. Taking those two huge franchises out of the picture I really enjoy films like Knives Out, Parasite, Kill Bill & Nausicaa Valley of the Wind.
What do you currently have in rotation on your spotify playlists?
I generally have one of three things in rotation; either some hip-hop music (mostly old school), retrowave or synthwave (80’s style synth) or film/tv-scores! As of right now I’ve been enjoying the new Loki OST, Joe Hisaishi’s Piano Stories, Outkast and Waveshaper. have a diverse and eclectic mix of music that inspires me.
What personal and professional goals do you hope to accomplish over the next year?
I think after spending most of 2020 studying and working part-time, I am really looking forward to just saving some money. I am hoping that international travel will make a comeback over the next year, so I can arrange to go on an overseas holiday, either Japan or New Zealand would be nice! Other than that, I am hoping to continue with my fitness goals I set for myself at the start of the year and progressively build more muscle. Professionally, I want to continue developing and broadening my skill set here at Webfirm. Adding value to the team, learning as much as I can and helping out!
What are the simple things in life that make you happy?
A belly full of delicious pizza, soft instrumental music playing in the background, sitting in front of a warm fire place, sipping wine and reading a novel or a comic. That’s probably my happy place now that I think about it. The one thing that can instantly elevate my mood has to be a good coffee!
